Jamie Coutts – Videographer,Editor and Producer – Secondary Director

Before creating Original Video Productions, Jamie Coutts worked primarily as a Videographer and Editor for over 5 years, although during that time was also producing and directing numerous projects. Prior to that Jamie worked as a studio camera operator for Global Television. During the last 8 years Jamie has worked in various roles on over one hundred corporate videos. These included safety videos, marketing videos, training videos and tribute/lifetime achievement videos. Further to that he also shot and/or edited three nationally aired documentaries, one television pilot, two twenty six episode television series and hundreds of television commercials. In 2005 one of the corporate videos he shot and edited was nominated for and eventually won an AMPIA award. In 2003 a project he edited for the Alberta Department of Energy made such an impact within the province that the Premier of Alberta showcased it to the Vice President of the United States and prior to this in 2002 Jamie Coutts and Curtis Comeau also walked away from the Annual Eddie Awards sweeping two of the four categories that night, first place and Spirit of the West, for a commercial they independently wrote and produced.

Jamie brings a versatile skill set to any project he works on and has a gift for expressing creativity through the lens of a camera or by composing smooth flawless sequences and manipulating technology to create the very best imagery and sound in the editing process. He also understands the production process very well and communicates clearly with clients so that they understand as well. He believes that that process must be easy for the client and with that makes the experience an enjoyable and positive one for everyone involved.

Curtis Comeau brings a wide variety of skill sets to any project he works on as well. Curtis is an award winning director/producer who also can pick up a camera or edit a project if need be. The ability to wear many hats during a project is also another reason Original Video’s group of people can save clients money as instead of paying for two people with two specific jobs you pay for one with multiple skill sets. Curtis is definitely one of these people as he is also an award winning photographer who has worked in Central America, Southeast Asia and Europe. His keen eye for composition, colour and contrast is what sets his work apart from everyone else’s. His belief is that "Its about the subtleties that you see, and for that matter don’t see, in the video frame that lead to a purely aesthetic viewing experience." It’s this craft which he has carefully and cleverly honed over the past 8 years

The chemistry between Curtis and Jamie is also another key aspect that does not go unnoticed by clients. The ability to make a nervous interviewee feel at ease or help a client understand a process is something that is a key ingredient in any projects success and something Jamie and Curtis pride themselves on.
