Jamie Coutts, the founder of Original Video, began his career operating a studio camera for Global Television. After leaving Global, he spent 14 years working in various roles within the industry, expanding his expertise to include producing and directing. By the time he founded Original Video nearly a decade ago, Jamie had already earned a reputation as one of Edmonton’s leading videography experts.

Becoming one of Edmonton’s top videography specialists takes more than talent, it takes a proven track record of excellence. Throughout his dynamic career, Jamie has earned numerous awards and nominations, including an Alberta Media Production Industries Association award, First Place and Spirit of the West titles at the Big Rock Eddies Awards, the Top Video Production Award at the 2010 Canadian Home Builders Awards, and two International Association of Business Communicators Awards, including their highest honor, the Award of Excellence. His work has even been showcased to the Vice President of the United States.
An Accomplished Creative Professional
Jamie brings extensive experience and numerous awards from a prolific career spanning over one hundred corporate videos focused on safety, marketing, training, and tribute/lifetime achievement. Beyond corporate projects, he has shot and edited three nationally aired documentaries, a television pilot, two twenty-six episode television series, and hundreds of commercials. His diverse skill set and creative passion shine through the lens, while his professionalism—rooted in clear communication and an efficient, streamlined process—ensures a smooth and positive experience for every client.
